Cheers to the Icy Spicy Margarita!
Makes 1 refreshing cocktail
Ingredients
30ml vodka
30ml Boatrocker Limoncello 3195 - 2024 Harvest
Juice of 1/2 a freshly squeezed lemon (about 15–20ml, adjust to taste)
30ml Cointreau
30ml simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice (use plenty for the best chill and flavour)
Lemon slice, for garnish
Sugar, for rimming the glass
Method
Prepare the Glass
Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glass.
Dip the rim into Tajín to coat evenly. Set aside.
Mix the Margarita
In a cocktail shaker, combine 60ml tequila (30ml x2), 30ml Cointreau, 30ml Here's How Margarita Mixer, and a pinch of Tajín seasoning.
Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
Prepare the Ice
Use the KitchenAid Ice Shave attachment to create finely shaved ice. This attachment transforms frozen ice moulds into light, fluffy shaved ice, perfect for cocktails.
Fill your KitchenAid ice moulds with water at least 8 hours prior to use to ensure they freeze solid.
Assemble the Drink
Strain the cocktail into the glass.
Add the shaved ice to fill the glass.
Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish with a bird's eye chilli for a bold, spicy touch.
Pro Tip:
- The finely shaved ice gives the cocktail a refreshing texture and enhances the presentation.
- Adjust the Tajín seasoning to suit your spice tolerance.
- Optionally, squeeze the lime wedge into the drink for an extra burst of citrus flavour.
Note: The KitchenAid Ice Shave attachment comes with ice moulds that need to freeze for 8 hours to become fully solid. Be sure to plan ahead so your ice is ready when you’re preparing your margarita
