The extremely fine grit guarantees a smooth, sharp cutting edge and therefore ensures your knives stay sharper for longer. An additional layer of hard chrome gives this sharpening steel an even higher wear resistance. Unlike the honing steel, the diamond steel can actually reshape and restore the edge to its original factory geometry, by taking a small amount of steel of the blade as your sharpen.
