Makes 3 small pizza doughs
Cooking Time: Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour (including 30 minutes to 1hr of proofing)
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
3/4 cup (180ml) warm water (about 45°C)
Method
Prepare the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
Combine Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the activated yeast mixture along with olive oil.
Knead the Dough: Mix until a dough starts to form. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour.
Let it Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Roll out the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
